This is an evergreen succulent that loves shade!! Great foliage contrast to ferns, hostas, etc. Large coral red flower spike adds drama.

By: Specialty Ornamentals

Spineless evergreen rosette to 3' wide, very agave looking. Big 5' spikes rocket skyward in late spring, exploding into fireworks of long lasting red bells that hummers adore!! A very 'center stage' kind of plant! Light shade, well drained soil. From high elevation Mexico.
Thick lance like leaves create a launching pad for shocking red flower spike. Does best with summer water. 5' tall x 3' wide.
Another bold non-agave from northeastern Mexico, producing rosettes to 2' of deep green, 4" leaves, the plant resembling a pile of hung-over starfish. The flowers, on red stems, are deep red edged with green and followed by red tinted seed pods. Drought tolerant but loves a little summer water along with excellent drainage and partial shade to full sun. Essentially a USDA zone 8 plant though success has been achieved in USDA zone 7 gardens with occasional protection.
