This fantastic Alstro resonates in tones of gilded saffron, sunflower yellow, peach and dusky orange while darker tones of plum peek from the unders of each petal - The hues change as the flowers age providing layers of complexity. Blooms July September. Sun to light shade, well drained soil, summer water for longest bloom. Superlative cut flowers last for weeks in a vase. Pull (don’t cut) spent stems to encourage new flowering stalks. Winter mulch recommended. USDA Zone 8  4" pot
Aptly named, 'Third Harmonic' showcases a harmonious union of lavish color, resonating in gilded saffrons, sunflower yellows, peaches and dusky oranges, while darker tints shade the tips and underside of each petal. Deep maroon streaks impose a bold pattern on these warm-hued flower clusters that alight verdant leafy stems.
A first rate plant, producing blooms in a mix of warm changing colors, starting with yellow over different shades of orange and finishing with buff orange, overlaid with ochre. Blooms all summer if kept watered in a fertile soil.
Alstromeria ‘The Third Harmonic’ has stunningly beautiful golden-orange flowers with black stripes and steel blue petal tips. They are the perfect cut flowers with up to 2 weeks of vase life and the flowers are produced all year round. The stalks are 3-4’ tall with bright green leaves and the plant stays evergreen if watered (necessary for all year flower production). Otherwise it goes dormant in the Summer and returns in the Fall. It does best in full sun at the coast (likely to flop over if shaded), part shade otherwise. It spreads from a 4" pot to cover a 4’ area in 7 years. Enjoy the absolutely fabulous flowers and watch the visiting hummingbirds.

New hybrid, a cross by California's George Hare between A. 'Harmony' and A. aurantiaca, with dazzling flowers that open yellow-orange with markings of black stripes and darken to deeper orange with red on the backs of petals -- lots of words for a lovely flower that blooms throughout the year in warmer climates. Plants are vigorous, creating clumps of flower stalks rising to 3-4 ft with bright green leaves and large flower clusters. Sun to part shade with summer water for best, continuous blooms. Frost hardy in USDA zone 7 and possibly lower. A fine and long-lasting cut flower, best pulled rather than cut.
