Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Zn 7. Thick, dark green leaves. Drought tolerant.
This dramatic green selection of A. salmiana var. ferox has a dusting of blue at the leaf bases which gives an irridescent glow at the centre. The leaf edges are lined with large spines. 'Green Goblet' grows to four feet tall by four feet wide with a nice tight habit. It is easily hardy to our temperatures but must be planted in sharp drainage or under cover.
A form selected in the high Sierra Madre Orientale of eastern Mexico by Carl Schoenfeld and Wade Rosch. This plant is likely A. gentryi with a little A. montana thrown in and forms 4-5 ft rosettes of fleshy, moss-green leaves beautifully patterned and indented. From pine/oak woodland, it is adaptable to moist soil and even partial shade where autumn leaves won't collect in the rosettes. Thus far has been hardy to close to 0 °F, USDA zone 7. However, the colder the climate, the more sun and drainage should be provided.
