Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Abutilon ‘Savitzii’ is an upright, deciduous shrub with eye catching cream and green foliage. Large, peach-colored, bell-shaped flowers bloom until frost and will attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
One beautiful plant with gorgeous variegation, the maple shaped leaves are mostly white with a central splash of green. Compact growth, likes part shade to shade and hardy zone 10. Salmon bell shaped flowers dangle from thin stems.
Mostly cream colored maple-foliage with small amounts of green suffused in each leaf. Occasional salmon flowers. Slower growing and needs more shade than other varieties.
Boldly variegated mint green and white leaves on woody stems are the perfect foil for pale orange tear-drop-shaped flowers. They just snagged my attention as I walked out of the greenhouse. Can be narrowly upright in growth so pinch or cut back for fullness. 5' tall. Average soil.Minimum temperature: 15° F
One of the few abutilons we sell that is quite tender. Grown since the 1800s for its wild variegation -- the leaves large and pale, almost white with occasional green blotches -- and long, salmon-orange, peduncled flowers. A medium grower, to 4-6 ft tall, needing consistent water and nutrients in sun to part shade. Winter mulch increases frost hardiness as does some overstory. Frost hardy to 25 °F, mid USDA zone 9. Where temperatures drop lower, best in a container or as cuttings to overwinter. Well worth the trouble!
