    Acer miyabei is a broadleaf deciduous tree with green foliage. In spring chartreuse flowers emerge. Attracts beneficial insects and birds. Grows well with sun - dappled shade and even moisture - regular water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in acidic, average, clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant, pollution tolerant and seaside / salt tolerant.

    Hardier than Acer campestre, to which it is most often compared, but of more appealing form and therefore requiring far less pruning in cultivation. Lacks the invasive character and obtrusive size of Acer platanoides. Very hard to find, it is an excellent urban tree. The best-known example in America is at the Morton Arboretum in Chicago, and it is broadly upright at 30 ft. tall, dubbed State Street?. A handsome plant by any measure.
