Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Sweetly scented, pale-rose flowers are produced on this 3-5', spreading shrub in late summer, after most other shrubs have finished. S-PSh/M
Another of J.C. Raulston’s distributions. This late summer bloomer has small light clusters of flowers. The best thing about the plant is the pink sweet fragrance that carries for many feet.
An excellent plant for attracting butterflies, the Chinese Abelia produces clusters of fragrant white flowers from early summer to fall on an upright to rounded semi-evergreen shrub. The Chinese Abelia is an easy to grow, drought tolerant, and pest resistant, and reliable shrub. Abelia chinensis is one of the parent plants of the widely planted Abelia x grandiflora hybrids. Abelias are easily grown, drought, salt, deer, and pest resistant upright to arching evergreen to semi-evergreen shrubs. Adaptable to a variety of soil conditions.
One of the parents of our common Abelia. This is an amazing plant. Tough and dependable but with a MUCH better flower. The tiny blooms are grouped in big clusters like a lilac AND they smell like a LILAC. Wow! A major butterfly magnet. Semi-evergreen. Place in a protected spot in Zone 6. Best w/ some shade in warmer zones.
