Agave celsii is an evergreen cactus / succulent with green foliage. Features glaucous texture. Grows well with sun - bright shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter, dry when dormant. Does well in average, gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

A beautiful, rare Agave with broad apple-green leaves (on this form—some have bluer leaves) lined with tiny teeth, forming colonies of 2' wide rosettes. It is more tolerant of shade than many Agaves, and Mary and Gary Irish report that this plant has withstood 12 °F in eastern Texas.
