Echium aculeatum is a broadleaf evergreen perennial shrub with blue foliage. In summer white flowers emerge. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and occasional water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in summer. Does well in lean and well-drained soil.

An excellent & easy to grow Echium from the Canary Islands that’s unfortunately non-existent in the nursery trade so far. It makes a 4’ tall, dense, branching shrub adorned with attractive, long, narrow leaves, topped by many conical spikes of pure white, narrow, tubular flowers. Best grown in well-drained soil & full sun.
