Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Always see this plant in gardens and want to add it to our garden. (We already have a plant in a container). So, it's always a challenge not to buy more plants. This prostrate grower gets 18”x36” and is glowing golden yellow, especially in the winter.
A sunny addition to the winter garden, this golden spreading Nordmann fir has a compact bun-like shape. The tiny golden needles require shade when young.
Incredibly striking, especially in winter when it really stands out! This slow-growing, low-mounding spreader to 5' tall and 7' wide has needles of deep brilliant gold; a perfect specimen for a conifer bed. It can sunburn in full sun, try planting it near a deciduous tree to give it afternoon shade in the summer and allowing it the glow in winter!. S-PSh/M
Abies nordmanniana ' Golden Spreader ' - Dwarf Spreading Golden Caucasian Fir. Rich, bright yellow needles in sun, soft yellow-green if in shade. Prefers sun/partial shade in well-drained soil.
A handsome golden form that originated as a seedling found near Boskoop in 1961, somewhat nested in habit with non fading gold foliage, it needs careful placement or it will burn, even medium sized specimens command very high prices 2-3' plants regularly sell for several hundred dollars.
Low, rounded spreading shape about 3"/year. Doesn't burn in full sun. USDA zones 4-8.
DWARF. A genuine conversation piece with striking golden-yellow needles on a 3-4' high and wide shrubby framework. Slow growing (1½-2" a year) with leaves slightly curved, yellow above and paler beneath, with two greyish-white bands. Its yellow brilliance is at its best in the depth of winter. Does not tolerate sun well and will cook without protection in the eastern U.S
