Haworthia coarctata is a slow-growing evergreen cactus / succulent with green and purple foliage. Features glaucous texture. Attracts beneficial insects and hummingbirds. Grows well with sun - shade and regular - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in average, gritty and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something verticillium wilt resistant.
This popular "species" is of unknown origin and not considered a valid species by Bayer. It's probably a hybrid of Haworthia coarctata. This plant has been grown under "stressed" conditions, with inadequate water and warmth and too much sun, producing this colorful specimen. It's normally dark green with purple overtones in some conditions.
