Most un-willow like willow we have ever seen…4-6' deciduous shrub with stunning tri-colored green, pink and cream leaves. Well mannered. Nice as a specimen or mixed in with perennials, dwarf conifers…appropriate for the rock garden and waterside. Can you say versatile? Sun to part shade, moist to wet soils, protect from hot winds.
Clumps of Hosta 'Green Thumb' are composed of 1.5" round dark green leaves, truly a miniature...perfect for the rock garden, multiplies well.
A beautiful willow with color that is hard to find anywhere else. The foliage first emerges green in early spring, forming a dense backdrop for the growth in mid-summer which is variegated pink and white with tiny green speckles. As summer progresses the growing tips become more and more pink until the plant seems to have three layers - green in the back, white in the middle, and pink in the front.
This is a tough tree or shrub that is easy to grow and can be pruned short for a hedge or grown into tree form for larger sites. Commonly, this tree is seen with multiple trunks braided together at a young age to create a living fence. Several years ago we found a nursery in Portland, Oregon who uses these trees to make furniture by weaving the branches to form lawn chairs, tables, and benches!

Because the initial growth is green, this is a fast growing plant - especially compared to other variegated plants which tend to grow slower. It is also one of the few plants to hold a consistently pink or white color throughout the summer and looks fantastic planted with yellow and purple plants nearby for the best contrast possible.
For the sparkling look in the garden, this variegated willow has pink, white and green tones in the foliage. Making an eager upward thrust, the young pink and white leaves of graceful 'Hakuro Nishiki' are dappled with green; it's a most dramatic counterpoint to the gray-green, cream-streaked mature foliage. As the year goes on, interest persists: the somber light of winter is relieved by polished, red-hued stems, and early spring brings out pendant catkins. This deserves the spotlight a dark background planting affords. Like all Willows, it thrives in moist soils. Prune in early spring to promote its elegant display.
A novelty with mottled white and pink leaves that appear to be incapable of photosynthesis and yet it is a vigorous shrub with a low, mounded form. Young twigs are a rich burgundy adding further ornamental interest. Plant height appears to be variable in different parts of the state. Full sun with ample moisture. Hardy to 0F.
Pink new growth turns variegated white/pink/green. Regular water. Prune for size & best color. Zones 5-9.
