Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This miniature willow is a great plant for miniature gardens or for use as bonsai. Leaves are fairly thick and a distinct grayish-green color with branches having a somewhat sculptural, almost windswept habit.
One of the smallest shrublets we grow. Our 8 year old plant 6"x 3". This cute plant has ¼" oval foliage that is deep green with deep veins. We only recommend in a container or small rock garden. These plants are only 8" tall. Extraordinary.
This little gem, a naturally occurring hybrid, discovered in Scotland in the 19th c. by a Mr. William Boyd, is a delightful low twiggy branched plant with rounded gray green hairy leaves, putting on about 1-3" a year. Despite being considered a rock garden plant. Salix x boydii likes an evenly moist soil yet still has good drainage.
Perfect for rockery or wall, this delightful alpine (hybrid of lapponum x reticulata) becomes a small shrub or gnarled tree (to 1') covered with tiny (3/4") silvery gray leaves. Sun/Med/GDr
