Hydrangea paniculata varieties grow in full sun and are a great choice for gardeners who like Hydrangeas but don't have a lot of shade. Dwarf Pee Gee is a smaller version of the popular Pee Gee Hydrangea, growing to only six feet tall rather than ten or twelve. Dwarf Pee Gee is well suited to grow in either shrub form or pruned into a beautiful tree shape where the flowers can be appreciated at eye level.
Varieties in the H. paniculata species, such as Dwarf Pee Gee, flower on new growth and so will bloom even after heavy winter pruning. Avoid spring and early summer pruning as this can disrupt the flowering cycle of the plant.
