Unusual shrub from SE Australia found on coastal ranges, river gorges, and forest margins. Long, evergreen, narrow foliage bears purple flowers and, eventually, orange to yellow egg-shaped fruit. Makes a striking garden addition in part sun to shade with regular summer water. Grows to 6ft or higher, but easily pruned. This strain shows hardiness in USDA zone 8b, possibly colder with protection.
