Graceful smaller oak from Japan and parts of China to only 25 ft or so, larger with great age. Upright rounded crown, rich 2-3" evergreen leaves and silvery-gray bark. A tougher species than some, hardy certainly to USDA zone 7 possibly upper zone 6. Somewhat drought tolerant though prefers some water in summer dry climates. Particularly useful as small street tree or close to gray infrastructure.
