Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A California Flora Nursery introduction. An exquisite form of manzanita with its specific epithet identical to its common name, making it confusing; nevertheless, this selection has golden new foliage maturing to medium green on plants to ten to twelve feet tall and five feet wide eventually; easily kept to five feet with ruthless pruning. Orange bark and white-tinted pink flowers mid November in the Portland area. A delightful presence in the winter garden. Fairly well drained soil, short on summer moisture, USDA zone 7b.
