Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Beautiful blue-green plants with notched ribs. Yellow flowers. From Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil and Uruguay. From southern Brazil and northern Uruguay, this has long been one of our favorites. Cold, wet conditions do not go well with this plant so keep it dry during cold and wet spells (which is most of the year here in Portland!). They have very large and showy, shiny, pale yellow flowers with a distinct red-violet stigma.
