Aloe 'Topaz' is an evergreen cactus / succulent with green foliage. In fall and summer pink and red flowers emerge. Attracts hummingbirds. Grows well with sun and low water. Drought tolerant once established. Does well in gritty, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant.
Aloe Topaz, also known as Blooming Aloe, is a vigorous clump-forming succulent distinguished by its narrow leaves edged with soft light-colored teeth and long-lasting salmon pink flowers. Reaching heights of 1 to 2 feet and widths of 2 to 3 feet, it features deeply channeled narrow leaves and produces unbranched spikes of salmon pink flowers from mid-summer through fall, emerging from orange buds. Originating from South Africa, it is the result of complex hybridization involving Aloe 'Leo 1970' and Aloe inyangensis. Thriving in full sun to part shade and well-drained soil, it requires occasional watering during summer months. Hardy to temperatures down to 25-30°F, it is well-suited for mass plantings, container gardening, or as a garden feature, displaying magnificent structure and form even when not in bloom.
