In early summer greenish club-shaped (star-shaped even) flower spikes appear, transitioning to brown seed clusters. Grows up to 2.5 feet tall and up to 2' wide. Grows best in wet conditions and will grow in either part or full sun, the latter when soil is constantly moist. Hardy to USDA zone 5.
