Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This tea olive has amazing evergreen foliage that erupts in spring with pink new growth. The wide margins will turn from pink to white during summer. The flowers are typical of O. fragrans. The plant should be protected in the Willamette Valley from cold.
A truly enchanting tea olive shared by friend and plantsman Ted Stephens of Nurseries Caroliniana. Creamy marginal variegation and new growth tinged with pink and purple. A vigorous grower unlike some variegated plants, with the same upright stature as other O. fragrans cultivars eventually 8-10ft tall and 4 to 6 ft wide. Excellent screen or small tree where the creamy fragrant autumn blooms can be enjoyed. For sun to afternoon shade in well drained soil and summer irrigation where dry. Has been frost hardy in USDA zone 7b.
