Begonia 'Mr. O'Flaherty' is a broadleaf evergreen perennial with burgundy, green, variegated and white foliage. Grows well with bright shade and regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil.
This upright rhizomatous type begonia has burgundy leaves with a star-shaped center, with it's dark color extending along the veins, across lighter fields of green with flecks of white to dark leaf margins. Hybridized by the late Brad Thompson, it also works well as a houseplant. 24" tall to 24" wide. Part sun to light shade. Possibly hardy to as low as USDA Zone 9, best protected in winter.
