    Hibiscus syriacus Red Pillar® PPAF is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In fall and summer red flowers emerge. Attracts bees, beneficial insects, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and regular - occasional water. Adapts to various soil conditions. Does well in average, clay, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant, humidity tolerant and seaside / salt tolerant.

Flowers mid-summer to early fall with rose flowers with dark red centers, attracting butterflies and hummers. Perfect for low maintenance hedges, lining an entry, as a formal specimen in a large container (or two in matching pots for symmetry); best in full sun, most soils (clay is ok), will need at least occasional water in dry seasons. Enjoys the coast. Deer resistant. Does not set seed.
