Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An interesting a variable specimen! Usually taking the shape of a large, upright tree of rounded habit reaching 40-75', but sometimes becoming an 8-10' multi-trunked shrub. Slow growing with glossy, leathery, holly-like leaves and elongated acorns. This California native prefers sun, good drainage and dry summers. S/D-GDr
