A 2023 Cistus introduction, charming indeed this part of long history of Cistus messing around with the flowering maples. Selected from a seed batch by Ann Amato has 1-2" flowers purplish in the center going geranium orange toward the outer petals paler reverse. Free flowering and rather small-leaved. We expect this to be at least as tough as its megapotamicum parent with frost hardiness to about 20 degrees for any length of time, root hardy to much lower especially if mulched. Dappled sun or at least afternoon shade, evenly moist, fertile soil. USDA zone 8b-9a
