Quercus affinis is a broadleaf evergreen tree with bronze, green and red foliage. Attracts birds. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional water. Does well in well-drained soil.
These offspring from our 1991 Tamaulipas collection, the parents now over 60' in our garden. Upright narrowly-pyramidal form, straight trunk and silvery bark. The leaves to 2-3" x 1/2", emerge bronze to red turning deep green as weather warms. Evergreen, save for occasional periods in early spring when leaves are emerging. Drought tolerant though extra summer moisture will push growth. Excellent urban tree. USDA zone 7.
