Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of our west Coast’s daintiest oaks, standing a mighty 3-4 ft in height and width, these, our collections from Oregon's Siskiyou Mountains, have 1/2" leaves, deep green, pale beneath and nearly round, on dense, evergreen shrubs. Tough and hardy, to zone 5, undoubtedly, if given lean soil and half shade to full sun and not provided too much summer moisture. The bright green acorns that ripen in mid autumn are a feast for shrub jays and seed collectors.
