Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Portulacaria afra ‘Medio-picta’, also called Midstripe Rainbow Bush, is a tall-growing succulent species. This is a unique, variegated form of Elephant Bush, which is native to South Africa. Features green, variegated, paddle-shaped leaves with creamy white midstripes, carried on thick, scarlet red stems. Over time, the plant will form into an upright shrub with a thick woody trunk. Ideal in warm climate landscapes, rock gardens and container gardens, but is especially happy sitting on your windowsill as a houseplant. The branches can be trained to grow upright or arching, making them useful in hanging baskets, succulent gardens and containers alike. Provide a well-drained soil away from reflected heat. Requires little water once established. Truly a wonderful, dramatic vertical accent in a succulent garden! Protect your PRINCE OF PARADISE™ from frost!
