Diminutive Echeveria with blue green leaves, that are covered with thinly whit hairs. Produces offsets. Pink flowers. 3" x 2-3". From the University Botanical Garden in Copenhagen.
Echeveria setosa var. deminuta, or as we call it, sexy-stubble beard Echeveria. HA! The fuzzy-wuzzy is soft, not prickly. This fun plant will bloom with bright-red and yellow flowers. A small, slow-growing, low maintenance plant. Provide a well-drained soil away from reflected heat. Once established, water infrequently during the hot season. Ideal in warm climate landscapes and container gardens. Echeveria setosa var. deminuta is especially happy sitting on your windowsill as a houseplant. Protect your PRINCE OF PARADISE™ from frost!
Fabulously fuzzy blue-green 1-3” rosettes form dense, weed suppressing colonies. Commonly called “Firecracker Plant” for its explosion of vibrant, hummer-attracting, yellow and red bi-color blooms that emerge on upright stalks in the Spring, the flowers last well into Summer, providing a brilliant contrast with the pale foliage. An excellent container specimen – it’s not picky about pot size, making it choice for low-water terrariums. One of the easiest plants you can grow and an excellent choice for beginning and experienced gardeners alike – just provide good drainage and occasional water for a happy plant. Protect from frost.
Echeveria rundelli is so super cute forming small rosettes of numerous jelly bean-like, powder blue leaves each with white to blonde whisker-like hairs on the leaf tips. Bold, red, bell-shaped flowers with yellow tips often occur in summer. This species will form adorable colonies given time. Photo: Wikipedia.
Another "hairy" plant, these are bluish-green "hairy" miniatures. An attractive plant which produces an abundance of new "hairy" offsets each season. For years circulated under the name E. rundelii, it was published under the current name in 1989. When flowering, the bright nodding blossoms contrast nicely with the blue-green hairy leaves, making it one of the most beautiful of the genus.
