Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From...yes...Australia, the hard-to-resist grass tree, this one forming dense rosettes of narrow, very blue leaves, arching and finely hairy, eventually reaching 4-5 ft. May develop a short trunk and produce white flowers on tall spikes after many years. Best in full sun with lean soil and very good drainage, preferably in a warm position or a container where protection can be provided when temperatures reach 18F.
This unusual long-lived perennial member of the lily family produces 3' long stiff, grass-like leaves and, in spring, a 3' spike closely packed with tiny white flowers; prefers a sunny, well-drained but not dry site. S/M/GDr
