I think I have a Schizophragma problem! Yes, I have moved on from serrata for the time being to track down this unusual family of hydrangea. This one is stumping me as I can't find any information in the US about it. No blooms yet but the leaves are stunningly large and more grey green than glossy. It is said to have a white bloom, more prolific than 'Moonlight' and larger petals and more fertile florets making it even more fragrant. Planting this on in the garden in the fall!
This beautiful vine is a rare and splendid plant with summer heads of brilliant white, lacecap-like, flowers which can be nearly one foot across! Native to the wooded valleys and mountain slopes of central and western China. This charming, self-clinging creeper holds on with aerial roots and looks amazing climbing up a wall, fence or arbor and it can be also be grown as a unique ground cover plant. This vine needs some room to grow, reaching 20-30' high with a spread of 6-12'; holds up well to summer heat. S-PSh/M
