Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This delicious Asian pear produces beautiful oval, smooth, glossy, pale yellow-green fruit with crisp, super juicy, sweet flesh which is reminiscent of melons. A bit unusual for Asian pear, this one has a tapered neck similar to their European cousins. Abundant fruit ripens in August and keeps well for months in cold storage. A lovely ornamental 10-12' tree with bright-white spring flowers and bronzy fall color; requires a pollinizer 'Chojuro' or 'Nijisseiki' are good choices. This cultivar requires 400 chill hours. S/M
