Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This fantastic southeastern U.S. tree is perfect for tough spots! It is often grown for its incredible fast-growth rate of more than two feet per year. Reaching 30-70' tall and as wide, this tree can withstand: pollution, salt, flooding, drought and it is adaptable to a wide range of soils types. This lovely tree has fragrant spring flowers followed by showy, leathery seed pods and fine foliage which creates a delicate, open silhouette allowing grass to grow below it. The small leaflets turn brilliant-yellow in fall. This specimen is useful for stabilizing poor soil, controlling erosion and feeding the bees. All that and it is thornless too! S/M-D
