A wonderful giant from the sub-alpine areas of southeastern Australia and Tasmania. This gorgeous tree has reached 270' in Tasmania making it the 10th tallest species of trees, generally reaching 80-150' in cultivation. Known as the gum-topped stringybark for its thick, fibrous and wooly bark that encases its trunk, while its branches have smooth bark; the leaves are rounded and bronze on juvenile plants and are long, blue-green and willow-like on mature specimens; requires more moisture than most eucs and with is towering size is best planted in large gardens or parks; a truly magnificent gem.
