The 2 1/2' sharply pointed leaves of this magnificent 5-20' yucca tree give it the common name of 'dagger plant', the fact that they somewhat resemble the leaves of aloe give them their species name of aloifolia. This wonderful native grows along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States. The 2' clusters of 4" showy, fragrant, white flowers have beautiful purple tinges and appear in summer. Eye-catching and remarkable purple succulent fruits follow which are edible raw or cooked. S/M-D

One of the larger hardy Yucca, forming a trunk to 5-20 ft.... eventually. A great addition to the garden and fine in a container as well -- easy in both. Leaves are large, to 2 ft, sweeping, and sharply pointed. Mature plants produce spikes of white flowers tinged purple appear in early to mid summer. Full sun to half sun in well-drained soil. Easy. Frost hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7.
