We finally have a few of this glorious plants. The yellow flowers appear in March as 2” tassels. Later in spring, the golden foliage appears and is lovely the rest of summer.
Fragrant, pale yellow, drooping flower racemes decorate the branches of this deciduous shrub in late winter. Early spring leaves are brilliant yellow and contrast nicely with rose hued leaf scales at petiole bases. Leaf color fades to a soft chartreuse by summer with deep, decorative veining. Arching layered branches form an open, graceful shrub 2-3’. Well drained, acidic soils, moderate moisture, bright shade or morning sun.
