Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of my big thrills recently was trying out this new, super EASY variety of our West Coast native “Checkermallow”. Much sturdier, with larger and richer, fuchsia-pink blooms- held on many strong, multi-branching upright stems to 4’ tall, it’s a front or mid-bed beauty and swell for providing a vertical accent. Attractive low clump of glossy, roundish foliage. Blooms Summer thru Fall, with deadheading. Cut flowers and butterflies! Tough, long lived and tolerant of less than perfect soil, but give it fertile, loamy soil for best show.
