Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A giant carrot from the Mediterranean that reaches 4-6 ft tall in its early years, displaying its lacy, fern-like leaves, silvery blue on white stems. When mature, in 2 or several years, plants bloom and reach further upward, producing stunning yellow flowers in umbels 1 ft or more across on branched stems that rise above the foliage to 10-12 ft! Ooo... Then, being monocarpic, the mother plant dies, having produced seeds for more giants and more fun. Requires well-drained soil and summer sun. Goes dormant in summer dryness and reappears with the rain. Frost hardy to 0° F, USDA zone 7.
