Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Candelabra Primrose that is much prettier than its name! This native to damp habitats in China’s Sichuan has pretty rosettes of tooth-edged leaves from which emerge strong, powder-coated stems to 2½’ topped with cerise to burgundy whorls of flowers in tiers, late spring to early summer. Easy and long lived on moist to wet sites in rich soil. Light shade best, takes sun with enough water. Tolerant of heavy soils and wet sand. Self sows and creates a glowing primulific portrait! Resistant to slugs snails.
