Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From a basal fan of Iris-like leaves arise stout 2-3' stalks covered, head-to-toe in mid-sum, with pretty creamy-yellow flowers. S/M/GDr
Sisyrinchium striatum is a South American wildflower with narrow, evergreen, iris-like foliage and upright stems bearing pretty pale yellow flowers beginning in early summer. Adaptable but best grown in consistently moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Do not cut foliage in the fall just tidy it up in the spring.
From Chile and Argentina, this taller Sisyrinchium sports plentiful pretty pale yellow blooms the length of its many stalks. Sharp drainage is ideal for best growth but it does like consistently moist soil in full sun. Once leaves yellow, feel free to cut them back by half. They will spread over time and will lightly re-seed so cut blooms off before seeds set if you want to limit this lovely flower.1 -2'x1 -2' Minimum temperature: -20 °F
Native to Chile, this elegant member of the Iris family is notable for its creamy multitudes of pale yellow blooms; each is centered with a deep buttery colored eye, and the back of each petal has a pronounced purple stripe
I wish this thing was hardy here... clumps of iris-like foliage and spikes covered densely with medium sized pale yellow to off-white flowers. Quite lovely. 1-3 feet tall. Zone 7
The tight clumps of softly silver, sword shaped leaves, of this evergreen, sun loving perennial, are outstanding when combined with low mound forming plants like Dianthus, Sedum, Origanum and small growing winter bulbs. The slender spikes of soft lemon flowers, borne in spring, make this Chilean native indispensable in the garden. Good drainage is essential. Generally short lived, 3-4 years, but self sows nicely in well drained soil.
