Semi-evergreen clumper that produces a succession of star shaped small yellow flowers in the summer.Perfect little edger or container addition.
An evergreen, herbaceous perennial growing in 8?-12" tall clumps, found in moist places. Bright yellow flowers cover the plant throughout spring and summer. Its compact iris-like leaves darken and die back in fall & should be cut back. Golden-eyed grass likes moisture, especially in summertime. When it receives adequate moisture it will re-seed freely. Excellent on the edge of a lawn or in a flower border; in alpine/rock gardens; or next to a water feature for maximum bloom. Native to California and is also found outside of California, but is confined to western North America. Attracts seed eating birds, and butterflies are attracted to its blossoms. No Historical Uses found. Found in freshwater-marsh. Communitites located in Freshwater Wetlands, wetland-riparian Between 0 and 2,000 feet.
A clump forming evergreen perennial with sword shaped, grey-green foliage and bearing dark veined, yellow, open star shaped flowers up to 2cm across, on slender, branching, winged stems, in Spring and Summer. An attractive plant that can be short lived, although it should self seed freely. Likes well drained soil with a neutral to alkaline pH.

Nice as edging or next to a water feature or water faucet for maximum bloom. Foliage darkens in Fall & should be cut back.
