Beautiful column of fine textured, feathery foliage, eventually 6-7 feet tall and 2-3' wide; deciduous; best in full sun in well-drained soil (but is adaptable) with average moisture… takes some drought when established. Nice vertical specimen, container exclamation point or interesting narrow hedge. Deer resistant.
An apparently sterile form with lovely ferny foliage and a dense upright columnar habit, it is great for screens and hedges or just as a landscape accent.
Beautiful finely textured foliage adorns this upright growing columnar buckthorn. A great specimen plant, hedge, screen, or add it to the back of the border. This is considered to be a sterile (though it may produce a few nonviable fruit) and non-invasive selection.
Its fantasic fern-like foliage, columnar (to 6' x 3') habit, AND non-invasiveness! make this new buckthorn a real find, perfect for screen, hedge, container, or specimen. Sun/Med
Light green, long, very narrow glossy leaves. Can prune to manage size. Hardy to USDA Zone 3
Airy-fairy buckthorn with a delicate lightness to the entire plant -- or the look of a bad hair day (very stylish here in Portland). Deciduous shrub to 10' x 8'. Wispy, fern-like, dark green leaves with translucent edges change to glowing yellows and reds in autumn. Clusters of green flowers appear in spring; red fruit aging black stands out in the fall. Full to part sun with normal summer water. Frost hardy in USDA zone 3.
This is a bushy, deciduous shrub with fernlike, irregularly scalloped leaves of the darkest green. Prefers moist soil and is slow growing to 10' x 10' .

A remarkable new plant that's a cross between fernleaf/cutleaf and columnar Buckthorn. It's ideal for a narrow bed or anywhere you need a vertical interest shrub. Can also be used for narrow hedges. Has great architecture and structure and turns a wonderful butter yellow in the Fall. This is going to be very, very useful shrub! Sun, light shade. Red berries turn green>red>black. PP14791

Whether you need an exclamation point or a specimen for a container, 'Fine Line' fills many needs in the garden with its great fern like foliage and stately columnar habit. 6' tall x 3' wide.
This plant is probably the hardiest plant we grow (to minus 35° - 40° F.) The very thin leaves are at most 1/4 inches wide and 4 inches long. The dark green foliage turns yellow in fall. This columnar plant can be a great deciduous accent for the garden or container.
