Nursery contributed plant descriptions

From Oregon northward to S. Alaska, this charming, low-growing (3") native may be found clambering on rocky ledges; small, fleshy glassy green leaves, variously tinted with red, and bright yellow flowers in midsummer. S-PSh/M/GDr
What is there not to love about this little plant?! It is a low maintenance, drought tolerant, evergreen ground cover that also has cheerful yellow flowers in the summer. The foliage color varies between reds, yellows and greens. It is so easy to grow! It flourishes under many garden conditions as long as the soil is reasonably well drained. Tuck it between rocks, on a dry bank or at the feet of larger perennials and shrubs. Also excellent for green roofs.
Zn 4. Yellow flowers. Fleshy green foliage.
Compact spreading variety with yellow flowers for 6-8 weeks beginning in July. Evergreen succulent foliage growing 2-3 inches tall. Great for rock gardens. Needs sun.
This sedum variety is native to the Northwest. It has uniquely shaped leaves that are green in summer, but turn red in fall and spring. This variety is herbaceous.
Little fat leaves in full clumps -- green in summer with red and purple tints in the fall colors or in chilly weather. Yellow flowers in summer. To only a few inches tall and spreading neatly. A littleOregon native to plant in full sun and well drained soil. Frost hardy to -10 °F, USDA zone 6.
If you find yourself looking for a native groundcover please consider this handsome green Sedum. Hardy & evergreen, it’s delightful in a rockery or at the garden’s edge. “Oregon Stonecrop” (which has a range from N. California-Alaska) grows to no higher than 4” & often lower, but will spread wide where space allows. Flowers are yellow, borne in Summer & are rich in nectar for butterflies & bees. This Sedum is actually edible in small quantities, though eating too much will give you a headache. According to some herbalists, mere proximity to the plant can cure you of closed mindedness, but we have yet to test this claim. In hotter & drier areas than its native range it will require a little extra water to look its best & in all situations, good drainage is preferable. Just avoid planting it in areas where there’s regular sogginess.
