Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Aucuba is a superlative shrub for the shade! This baby never goes out-of-bounds as it grows slowly to 4’ high and wide with lovely, toothed, large evergreen leaves edged in a wide yellow band that ages to cream. If there is a boy Aucuba in the vicinity, you’ll have pretty red berries late summer into fall that are showy against the foliage. Thrives in most soils with at least semi-regular water in the dry season in the shade (no sun on leaves)… even full shade.
