Mangave "Pineapple Express" forms rosettes 18 inches tall and spreading 2 feet wide. Its slender, dark olive green leaves boast a glaucous minty overlay, peppered with burgundy spots, most concentrated at the core. The upward-reaching leaves feature tiny teeth and a cinnamon-hued terminal spine, reminiscent of a pineapple's structure. Ideal for well-drained soil in full to partial sunlight, occasional to regular watering enhances its burgundy spotting. Cold-hardy down to the mid-20s°F, it thrives in USDA Zones 9 and above. Slow to offset, it maintains symmetry, making it an eye-catching choice for gardens or containers. 'Pineapple Express' results from a cross between Mangave 'Bloodspot' and Mangave 'Jaguar'.
This rosette-forming succulent displays spiky, blue-green leaves splotched with burgundy. A new hybrid of Agave and Manfreda. An easy care, drought tolerant plant that is great in landscapes or as a houseplant. Provide a well drained soil away from reflected heat. Once established, water infrequently during the hot season. Protect your PRINCE OF PARADISE from frost!
Mangave 'Pineapple Express' has gorgeous, rubbery, arching blue-green, succulent leaves covered liberally with burgundy spots. It is an intergeneric hybrid between Manfreda and Agave with characteristics intermediate between the two parents. From Agave comes stout, rigid leaves with small teeth along the leaf edges all held in a tight, symmetrical rosette. From Manfreda comes burgundy speckling and burgundy colouration of the leaf edges. Together these characteristics make one dramatic little succulent! Plant in sharp drainage or in a container protected from winter rain. In colder areas bring in as a winter houseplant.
