Penstemon rostriflorus is a large, long-lived, Rocky Mountain and southwest US native beardtongue called Bridge's penstemon, It grows as a large, shrubby, evergreen mound 2-3 feet tall and that produces a profusion of tubular, scarlet red flowers from late July until frost. It is a hummingbird magnet and will also be visited by butterflies and bees. Plant in lean, average to dry soils in full sun. Deer resistant.
