The dramatic foliage of this 6-8' vase-shaped shrub opens up a greenish-gold before maturing to a deep, dark-burgundy. The effect is an amazing contrast, especially on those intermediate leaves which are burgundy with a gold center! White-tinted-pink summer flowers standout against the foliage before they become showy dark-pink fruit. A fine introduction from Bailey Nursery. S/M PP16984
The result of a cross between P. Diablo and P. Dart’s Gold, this lovely deciduous shrub has an arching upright shape eventually 6-8’. Leaves emerge green gold in the spring and by summer golden centers are surrounded by rich red burgundy. Flower clusters May>June with red buds opening pinkish white are showy. Exfoliating reddish brown bark adds to the non stop interest! Not fussy about soil, sun to part shade & occasional water. PP 16894.
