Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the most elegant of all flowering shrubs, this graceful, deciduous, woody shrub normally matures to 3-5' tall with a 4' spread. Featuring captivating, large, white to pink flowers, each up to 6-8" across. Lush green foliage is deeply divided into leaflets and retains its eye-catching beauty throughout the growing season. This species is often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, in fact, the Genus is named for Paeon, the physician to the gods and the one discovered the medicinal properties of peonies. S/M
Few flowering shrubs reward the gardener so richly for so little effort. In contrast to roses, tree peonies rarely require spray, fertilizer, pruning, or summer watering. Foraging deer are becoming a major pest even in urban gardens, but deer find tree peonies unpalatable. Great cut branch items for their rich color variety and persistence in a vase.
From Archibalds, with the note don't complain if they all look like rockii, seed is from cultivated plants, rest assured I won't complain if even some of them look like rockii, potentially some very good tree peony forms.. ZONE 4
