From plantsman Shayne Chandler, from a group trip several years ago this lovely creature, looking a bit like a hefty form of B. hemsleyana grows to a vigorous 18" with leaves mottled silver-pink and white, with pink flowers rising above. Tough in any woodland situation given adequate drainage and consistent summer water. Deciduous, USDA Zone 7b.

Pretty deeply lobed foliage speckled in white on soft stems in clumps of about 12”, this rare beauty was collected in China by Shayne Chandler . Has been hardy for us in Zone 8 with a mulch layer to protect the rhizome. Pink flowers late summer (but this is all about the FOLIAGE). Also thrives indoors. Bright shade, moist soils that drain; does not play well with aggressive tree roots. Lovely potted plant but will require protection in winter. This baby is SWEET!
