Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Flirt is known for producing loads of brilliant pink, lightly fragrant flower clusters consistently throughout much of the year in mild winter climates. Long one of our favorites from the breeding work of Ted Turner, Flirt has a medium-sized growth habit but can be maintained smaller with proper pruning techniques. As with all Oleanders this one is sun loving, salt tolerant, and resistant to periodic drought once well-established. Oleanders are extremely durable and reliable evergreen shrubs for mild winter climates and are especially well adapted to the mild coastal regions of the US. Salt tolerant, drought resistant, deer resistant, and adaptable to a variety of soil types although they do appreciate good drainage and seem to prefer a mineral soil over humus based soils. Oleanders also make excellent container specimens that are easily overwintered indoors in cooler climates.
