Nursery contributed plant descriptions

The smooth, raised burgundy eye of this 1 to 1-1/2" wide flower is surrounded by five, pointed beige petals that are speckled with burgundy dots are produced singly and in small clusters near the base of new growth in spring, summer, and sometimes into fall. A low growing trailing plant, amongst its many similar cousins, with thick succulent stems that makes an easy container plant for shallow dishes, as a spiller from cactus and succulent gardens, or use it as an informal groundcover below larger succulents and cacti. Easily grown in high indirect or cool filtered sunlight in sharply draining soils. We ship the Trailing Huernia as carefully as we can, but sometimes pieces break off anyway. Each one will easily re-root if given the opportunity. Just let them dry in a shaded location for 2-3 days, and put the base into the soil with the mother plant, water then, and sparingly after that.
